This course is designed for students studying for CSEC Human and Social Biology. 

The format includes blended topics along themes of interest for students that are related to the course of study in HSB. 

Remember, HSB does not have an SBA component, so it is imperative that students have in-depth knowledge of the contents of the syllabus and how it relates to you and the world at large. 

To allow you to process the content being learnt, you are required to interact with the material in various ways such as writing blogs, creating charts, writing your own quizzes and even doing quizzes for assessment.

Students are required to differentiate among the following types of cells: plant cells, animal cells, bacterium cells and protist cells. Plant, animal and protist cells are all eukaryotic cells while bacterium cells are prokarytic cells.

Plants and animals are multicellular organisms so there are many variations of the cells that they are made up of. As a result, the plants and animal cell structures are generalized structures. The vast majority of protists are unicellular and may form colonies while all bacteria are strictly unicellular.
