Throughout life we have experiences which can have traumatic outcomes.  Some of these events include natural disasters, pandemics and the death of a loved one.  This module will help our participants understand changes that can take place on an individual, national and global level.  With this enhanced awareness students will be able to identify and build the capacity to cope under stressful conditions.  Each

student then, would be able to strengthen their resilience and develop new ways of managing within a changing environment.

Throughout life we have experiences which can have traumatic outcomes.  Some of these events include natural disasters, pandemics and the death of a loved one. It is important for students to first understand the changing environment and the impact on continued learning. This module seeks to increase awareness of a student’s academic self -concept and the relation to achieving school success.   

 It is important for students at this critical time to develop and maintain a positive mindset/positive thinking and have this translated into students who are self- motivated to practice responsibility for their learning

Be Like a Chameleon

This module seeks for students to become familiar with the meaning of transition. Students explore various transitions and feelings associated with transitions. Student feelings are normalized through this process and methods to deal with various negative emotions are provided. Preparation for re-entry to school is also explored.

Students are assisted to develop an” Attitude of Gratitude”.  The module explores the importance of being grateful and giving thanks. Students are assisted to identify the good things in their lives for which they are thankful, together with how they can show their appreciation.  They are also assisted to see that even when there are negative situations (Covid19 Pandemic) they can also be grateful.

In this module, the character of Studie provides students with opportunities to explore life today and some of the changes experienced. Studie’s stories provide a platform for the exploration of feelings associated with changes, the normalization of adapting to change and highlighting resiliency skills for coping with a new normal.

Throughout the module, students are assisted to effectively manage their time during this Pandemic. It’s important that they use their time wisely, to be able to keep abreast of their academic work. Developing time management skills will also assist them when they return to school as they may be faced with a shorter time frame to complete a term’s work.
